Caracal bow mount

I recently bought a 2020 caracal. It has a 10” garmin mounted on a balzout mount with a 6” arm. Before I sold my last boat i removed a balzout mount with a 9” arm also with a 10” garmin unit.
Would bass cat recommend buying the balzout dual base and redrill holes for that base or just mount the second base I already have beside the one mounted. There is plenty of room and the layout for the graphs looks good.

Idk if this helps you or not but I have 12” Garmin with 12” Ballzout mount on my Caracal   Bought it new from the factory like this last yr. Should basically be the same boat.

Thanks for the reply, but yes. I was just trying to decide if I wanted to add the second single balzout or buy the balzout double base and use my arms to mount bouth units. I didnt know if someone at bass cat may have a recommendation on that.

It might be just me, but I hate drilling holes in my boat that I expect to keep for years.    So my answer is, what ever requires the minimum additional holes.

 

 

BTW, I make adaptor plates that attach to the old holes on one side and drill holes in the adaptor plate to accommodate the new mounts.

I own a 2022 Caracal which came with a 9″ Humminbird Helix on the bow mounted to a 3 hole Ram mount. 

Earlier this year I installed a Balzout dual mount for the 9″ and a 10″ Helix and I love it!

I was able to use one of the 3 holes from the Ram mount and installed a 5″ x 8″ x 1″ plastic backing underneath the fiberglass tray. 

I bolted the Balzout mount through the tray and backing to strengthen the area since this was a heavier mount with an additional graph. 

So far it’s working great!

I think you’re talking about my Light Blue Caracal with the light blue coolfoot.

I used the 6″ arm for the 10″ Helix for Megalive and a 4″ in the front for the 9″ Helix used mostly for down-imaging
