Totally Shocked !

First off I was a three time BassCat owner and I am not knocking the boat in anyway. All three were the best boats I ever owned. Quality workmanship and performance and pride to be part of the BassCat family. And remember some of the good times working with Ivan Williams at the boat shows in Atlanta.

Recent me the wife retired and decided to get back into the couple tournaments agin because we enjoy fishing together. So we started looking the other day about getting into another BassCat.

WOW ! We were totally shocked when we looked at replacing our prior Cougar FTD. We are not rich people and I have a feeling fishing has turn into a rich man sport now. Never thought boats would reach a price of $100k without accessories. I use to be involved with the fishing industry and wonder what direction it going in.

How has this affected the tournaments trails across the USA. Remember I am not complying just shocked. I am still driving around with a BassCat license plate.

Price any brand and you will see a similar increase since the CoVid inflation. As much as it’s effected the ability to purchase, in some cases, it’s also restricted the production numbers on all brands. The same is true on those $95,000 diesel trucks and $100,000 SUV’s today

Thus things have become more normalized while the world catches up to the expansive dollars saved during CoVid and the inflation that the buying power created. From car lots, tractor farm stores, RV Sales, to marine dealers it’s normalizing.

Pricing any top tier model will place you on the $90,000 to $100,000 plus mark. Some models are in the $120,000 range with equipment people order. However, you can get the Cougar FTD SP model for right on $80,000 with good equipment this model year.

Thanks for your response to my message. I do understand what you’re saying on the inflation of all recreational items. And the $95K diesel vehicles because I am in that boat also with my older truck.

I would never sold my Cougar FTD if I only had a crystal ball. Thanks for letting me know what options you can offer me. I am actually trying get my 1996 Panera II back from the gentleman who purchased it back in 1999. It needs work but at my age it will be a good project.
