Prop Advice for a 2009 Puma FTD with 250 SHO

Just bought a new (to me) 2009 Puma with a 2011 Yamaha 250 SHO.  Hydraulic Jack plate and a Mercury Tempest 27″ on it…  The issue is that with 2 riders empty aside from full tanks, it reaches 67 mph at 5200 and the holeshot is less than epic.

I have read much on this board in the last month about which prop but from reading it seems to be “dealer’s choice.”  Im not a particular fan of any prop manufacturer.

So I call BCB to have them check the build sheet to see what was on it originally only to find out it didn’t matter since the motor isn’t the one that came with it.  I was considering a Mercury Fury 25p as that is what shows up most often in the forums here and BBC.   I hear many talk about the 24p and the 26p.

Is there a “best prop” for my particular setup.  Most likely holeshot is more important that top speed and mid range 40-60 are most important to me.

Dan stick with a T2 Yamaha on this rig and you should be fine. The Tempest was not the best propeller and the Fury does well also.
