05 Puma setup questions and advice

Just moved into an 05 Puma dual console 225 optimax running a 25 pitch fury with a slidemaster jack plate and was wondering if it helps performance to use the 2 rear tanks instead of the belly tank, also wondered about motor height on the jack plate. I am coming out of a p3 with 200 efi that I could squeeze 72 out of was wondering what kind of speeds with the 225 on this puma I can expect.

I had an 05 Puma with a 225 pro xs. I ran a 25 fury in the last 4 or 5 years. I had a hydraulic jack plate. I seem to remember 3.5 inches from prop to pad was a good starting point. No plugs in the vents. I would think you could run the same 72mph pretty comfortably. Gotta go Ill add more later

The rear tanks are better for top end. Weight distribution I guess.

Thanks for the help, the boat came with a 25 tempest plus and Im not a big fan so I tried the fury its great holeshot and right now pretty good on top end I think I need to raise it some Im only spinning it around 5400 at 68 GPS with 20 psi wp.I want to empty the belly tank and run the 2 rear tanks but was wondering if they draw down together if I fill both?

We prefer a Trophy or Fury on this rig and not a Tempest.

And lose the Tempest and get a Fury or Trophy as BCB recommends.

Thanks again I ran a 25 fury on my p3 and loved it thats why I put one on this puma soon as I got home with it. Im hoping it will get into the low 70s when I get the jack plate set, so far Ive raised till the inner and outer plates were flush, too high so I dropped I it 3/4 inch and now raising it slowly. Where Im at now seems too low it doesnt want to start chine walking and I have minimal rooster tail. Also it has 1 power pole on the left, do they affect wot handling this is my first experience with the powerpoles just curious.

Base engine height strictly on steering torque. A little torque and you should be good.
