Topic: 175 Mecury Pro XS for Sabre?

Because of the length of my garage (and it being cheaper to buy a boat and not a new house), I am going to buy a Sabre FTD. I am happy with the boat selection, but am stuck on the motor. Almost all of the Sabres advertized are sold with 150s, but I plan to keep this boat for years. Any suggestions? Thanks, John

Take all of the question out and go with the 175 XS. Then you will never have it in the back of your mind that the Sabre would have more if I would have went with the 175 XS. A 150 will push the Sabre great, the 175 will do it just a little better. ElwoodElwood…..Bass Cat Proud

Go w/ the 175 pro xs. The 150 Opti is plenty of motor, but if I were to get another Sabre I would definately spend a little more and get the 175, especially on the FTD Sabre.

John, I have the standard Sabre w/dual console and the 175 proxs. I felt just as Elwood described so I had Big D take the 150 EFI off & go with the proxs. I personally feel like its awesome! now if the lakes would thaw. Good Luck, John S.
