2006 Puma throttle sticking

2006 puma, with a 2017 250proxs with a hot foot. Fuel tank under seats. Throttle sticking when shifting from F to neutral and also sticks going into neutral from R. Makes it super difficult pulling into docks/slips. I need access to pull the throttle control. I’m assuming I have to pull the seats off and the tray below the seats to be able to remove the throttle assembly? Should allow me to reach up to remove that? Anyone have any tips to do this? any suggestions on fixing the issue would be much appreciated.
