2013 SEBCOG decisions?

We need to decide what we want to do for this years event. I have heard that some may like a spring event better then a fall. If we change to a spring event then I dont see us having one this year due to logistics. And I would like to start moving the event around to different lakes in Alabama. I need your thoughts on this, and we need to do it fast.

Ive been three years in a row because its Fall on Guntersville. Not opposed to somewhere different, though spring would be tuff to make. Fishing the ABA weekend series there are few, if any unless you qualify, txs left after September. Though you need to consider Chicamauga, not far at all from N. AL area and putting out HEAVY bags. Cant please us all though so dont get caught up trying.

Regarding location, I would really like to see us move the event each year, and perhaps not just limit it to AL lakes. We are blessed in the south to have many quality lakes to pick from. As far as time of year goes, it is going to be impossible to meet everyones needs. The concept of spring tournament is very appealing. Another thought would be to rotate seasons–one year in the spring, the next in the fall.Finally, it would be great to see the SE owners get together 2-4 times a year for a one day tournament. I realize this would be hard on many, but a few short one day events might draw a larger crowd for the 2 day event.Kelly does a great job with this event each year. If you live in the southeast, you are missing a real treat by not attending. The owners at this event are a fine group of people to be around.

I like the fall but am open to the spring. Different bodies of water and states are oaky by me as long as we can keep up with BassCat Alley.

I plan on fishing my 1st this year. I dont really care but going out of the state isnt a option for me. Keep it some where in Alabama!Gville, Pickwick, Logan, Lay

Just my two cents, Id be happy with either Gville or Pickwick, as I rarely fish a lake with grass. (I need the practice).These events are run well and Kelly certainly does a great job.I doubt very many know what a headache it is to plan one of these, including myself.Ill throw out a suggestion – I vote for a little earlier in the fall. Specifically, maybe two to four weeks. The weather seems to ramp up right about the time this tourney normally starts. As previously mentioned, you cant please everyone. Just a little input. Thanks.

i like the Idea of Pickwick…..not everyone in the south gets to catch smallies. I would love to have a reason to head over there and catch something brown!! no matter what time of the year it is. I also like the idea of one in the spring and the next in the fall…. just makes sense.

I have never fished Pickwick and that would be fun to get on some new water. Also, would be fun to get back on Eufuala too. Anywhere is fine as long as I park next to Carky in BassCat Alley. Ill have a cold one for you brother in my SabreFTDs cooler. Heck, Ill have a few more for anyone crazy enough to stop for BassCat chatter.
