2014 Puma FTD/Merc 250 Pro XS performance?

I just bought a new to me 2014 Puma FTD with Merc 250 Pro XS. Can you guys save me a lot of time and money by sharing the best set up yall have experienced with this rig, ie what prop, plugs or no plugs etc. Im looking for the best marriage of hole shot and top end. Thanks

I have the same boat and motor. Manual jackplate flush at the top. 26 Fury no plugs. 25 Fury during the Summer no plugs.

I have a new to me 2014 Puma FTD with 250 ProXS also, I purchased in January. Loving the boat. Run a 26 Fury and hydraulic jack-plate. No plugs, blows out a bit coming out of the hole but the hole-shot seems pretty good to me. Still trying to figure out how to best use the jack-plate. I have seen 70 mph with it pretty easy, not sure what it can do wide open. May try a new Bravo 1 XS in the near future. Enjoy!

running way down in South Texas (hot water and air) I had best results with a 27 Fury and winter and a 26 Fury in the summer–a 25 wouldnt have worked well for my 2011 rig.

alot of changes since 2011 jpost. blow out with hydraulic jack plate can helped by lowering the jack plate. If still not desirable add plugs to control venting.

The newer hulls did well with the Torquemaster Gearcase. The newer Generation 2 TM case, Wingmaster, is not Neely as friendly on hole shot. They exhaust and slight reduction in horsepower really sucks on some applications. Some rigs see no issues. The propeller selection and PVS plugs was not a problem in older cases though is now. We suggest downsizing propellers for most rigs.

26 fury works well for me with fully loaded rig.
