Topic: 2017 Puma / ProXS 250 No start

Was on Rayburn yesterday coming back in to the ramp when I felt a hesitation while on plane. While coming off plane about 10 minutes later from the hesitation the engine died. Would turn over but not start. Acted like it wanted to and just sputtered and died. After a few trys it just turned over with no attempt. Made some calls and checked the normal stuff. Took it to Bowden Marine this morning and there is a service bulletin for the the air compressor going bad. Mine apparently fell into that lot. Hopefully thats the issue. Luckily I wasnt far from the ramp and trolled in. Although it sucks to lose this week off for this. Im counting my blessings. Already miss my ride.

Hope you get back on the water soon. Was there a notification sent out to the owners affected by the recall? I remember reading something about it online but havent received anything.

I believe the service bulletin generated in May and I know Bowden Marine has it. I was asked if I got it and I didnt. William at Bowden pulled the cowling off and looked at the pump and apparently the good ones have a white dot on them. Mine fell into the bad category. When it goes out it gives little to no warning. My warning was a slight hesitation which was very minimal and only when I pulled back power did it cut off. I have read some more on it and know another owner who has had the issue too. Right now the only thing im sure of is the fact that mine is on the naughty list. Waiting on word if it is indeed the issue. The motor has 44 hours on it at the time it crapped out.While its there Im having them install a carbon 12 in the dash and move my HDS 9 to the bow. Also doing a service.

I have a 2006 ProXS 225. That happens to me when I pull back throttle and power down coming off plane. Motor seems to hesitate for a sec or two, kinda like it loses fuel. As soon as I hear or feel motor do it I give it a little throttle and it goes away. Should I be concerned? It always starts right up after first initial crank, which has a slight hesitation but then starts.

Found a blown diaphragm and an oring that was split. Not sure at this point where other than somewhere in the fuel system. Did the compressor change. All is good for now.
