3.5 inches prop to pad is a good starting point. Just make sure you have good measurements. Depending on weight, boat specifics, etc. some rigs like higher or lower than that. If RPMs and water pressure allow, go up in small 1/4 or less increments until you lose speed, pressure, or have a lot of torque on the wheel, then lower approx 1/8 inch at that point. Everything starts becoming a balancing act.
I have a 2018 Sabre with a 150 ETEC that wants to run approx 2 3/4 inches prop to pad with a 25P prop for max speed, but my mid range acceleration stinks. So I sacrificed about 2 mph, set the engine to 3 1/4 and put my 24P on and it’s a dream to drive. It’s all what you’re looking for.
