Did you get a manual or hydro jackplate? The SHO like to be higher then the Mercurys. If you are starting out with motor very low on the settings, try raising it.

Ive got a hydro jackplate. Its my first hydro jackplate ever so Im learning as I go. I have been running it all the way down getting on plane. Ill try raising it up some and see what happens. Thanks!

We would have the throttle checked to be sure your getting full advance.

Actually this is one of the Puma FTDs that was used at the dealers meeting last year. Its the first one that appears on the BCB website when you click on Puma FTD. Can I check the throttle advance myself? Im headed to the OI tournament tomorrow morning. Will be on Norfork all week.

Then most likely the advance is fine as they were all gone through and unless the dealership did service or maintenance on it, the throttle is most likely fine. The Fury might help and there are the other Yamaha series that might help as well. The unvented props could use a smaller 3/16” vent hole also.

The dealer did service the motor before I picked it up. I will check the hotfoot adjustment and try the Fury when I get to Norfork. Thanks for the help.
