Looking for some help. I have a new 2020 Caracal, came from a 2015 Caracal. This new boat drives completely different than the old one and I cannot get it above 67mph without it starting to chine walk bad, never had any chine walk on the old boat.
Setups:
2015 Setup: 225 SHO, Detwiler Hydro JP, Powerpoles, 36V setup, 26 Gallon tank aft and 33 underseat, Bravo 4 blade 25p
2020 Setup: 225 SHO, Bobs Hydro JP, Powerpoles, 24V setup, 10 Gallon tank aft and 33 underseat, Yamaha T2, 3 blade 24p
I assume that the weight difference of having the smaller tank in the rear and one less battery has something to do with it, but I cannot figure out where the jackplate should be to get more speed without chine walk. In most cases it starts to walk bad around 65. Dealer tells me I should get 70-72, and I know from my old boat that I can, but this new set up has me stumped... The old boat didn't have a JP gauge so it's tough to try and replicate my old setup. I feel like it should be better with the 3 blade on the new boat. Thanks for any insight.
It sounds like the engine height needs to come down on the newer boat in comparison to the older boat. The smaller tank should only make things better, plus there is only a 24 volt system.
