2023 Caracal compartment lights

I noticed today in the garage when i was messing around with the boat, that when the master switch on the cranking  battery is on, after a few minutes there is a clicking at the dash. All the compartments were closed The power switch near the shifter is off

I thought i had fixed this as i discovered that the interior light in the rear compartment wasn’t turning off. I adjusted it and it now turns off when the lid is closed.

Is this normal or is there another compartment with the same issue?

on our 2022 Caracal, all the compartments except the day box, livewells and battery area have lights and if all the lids are closed and the clicking continues (with power on) one of the light switches isn’t being pushed by the lid when it’s closed. They can be adjusted which will stop the clicking

Upon further investigation, the port side rod locker is not lighting up upon opening. I see the black wire that should be on the end of the switch with the pin that pushes in and out when you open/close the lid, is just hanging there. It appears as though a piece may be missing compared to the other compartment switches. The end of the black wire has a plastic sleeve that looks like it goes over the end of the switch, but it wont go on

Basscat, do you have a photo of the parts involved? Also, would this allow the clicking noise under the dash as I described  above to occur, even though the light isnt on?

The clicking is the relay checking and timing the system. That’s sometimes because a switch is open and not closing (reverse). Meaning it’s contacted and turned on always. The bullet end is a standard push on bullet connector and while those are proprietary, most any bullet connector will work on that stem post.

The light does not come on in the port rod locker. Based on the picture of the lid switch in the Basscat store, my switch is missing the conncetor to the right hand side of the threads

I had the same issue in my 2023 Caracal.

I had to fiddle (really technical word) with that switch and connection to get it working. One problem I had is the nut holding the switch in place was loose and when I tightened it, and adjusted the position with the moving nut (another technical word) the switch worked properly.

 

To make sure I had adjusted and tightened the switch properly, I turned on my video camera on the phone, put it in the locker(s), and closed the lid.  I then watched the video to ensure the switch switched off the lights. I did have to adjust the moving nut a few times to get it right.

 

Why the switches don’t have a lock washer to ensure they stay tight seems like an oversight on Bass Cat manufacturing’s part.
