Topic: 2023 Caracal – Trailer parking brake

My 2023 Caracal is now 4 months old. My trailer parking brake always worked great, but recently I noticed is no longer works. Is this device on the trailer adjustable by chance? Even when fully engaged, on a slight incline in a motel parking lot up in LaCrosse two weeks ago, it rolled into the back of my truck. Is it possible after a lot of miles of trailering over the first 4 months it maybe needs to be adjusted. Thank you for your input.

Yes, the main bolt should almost be fully inside the activating tube on the handle. It’s possible it needs spacers on the main block to increase the cam action of the handle. It’s also possible that the brakes are leaking down and the brakes are weak, which means a leak exists somewhere.

I had the same problem with mine. 23 Puma STS. Handle wouldn’t stay locked. Dealer added spacers to the main block and added brake fluid. It works great now. I will monitor for leaks.
