Looking to go from a 24volt to a 36 volt trolling motor set up. I have a P4 and it appears that I do not have room for a 4th battery. Does anyone know what is the proper way to hook up the cranking battery for the 3rd battery for the trolling motor? It appears that people run their 36 volt systems using their cranking battery as Ive read on another post going. Also looks like I will be selling my Motor Guide 82lb digital. Nothing wrong with it, just want to go bigger. Someone can make me an offer for it. danaperrotte@yahoo.com. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have some photos I can email you of my setup on a Puma running a 36v on 3 batterys using the cranking battery. I never had any problems with it.Jamey@jameycaldwell.com
My website, http://www.jonestrollingmotor.com , has some trolling motor wiring diagrams. Just remember on a three battery system, the outboard must be connected to only the battery that is feeding ground to the trolling motor–in other words, the outboard and the trolling motor must be grounded to the same battery. If you hold the mouse on the picture, a box will come up in the lower right corner. Clicking on it will enlarge the picture. Thanks, JohnJones Trolling Motor Services870 773 3474Motorguide/MinnKota/PowerPole/Lowrance/Humminbird
