250 Pro XS oil leak

Got 2 hours of break in behind me today. When I got home I noticed some oil leaking from cowl in to splash well. After removing cowl noticed some more. I can see 2 potential places but this is first Merc in years so…. First place: there is a small brass hose barb at the front of motor just under flywheel that has nothing connected?? Second place: what appears to be an overflow line from oil tank on left side of motor has a hose barb at the end of it but nothing connected?? ( yes cap here and at tank on boat are both tight, first thing I checked)Anyone with any thoughts?? Thanks in advance.

Might be from where they bleed the system and it just was not cleaned up, you should be able to see it coming from somewhere.

That barb is supposed to be open, if we are thinking of the same one. The leakage is probably around the oil reservoir on the engine or a line loose. It could be not cleaned up from the rigging and removal of lines and be running out, though it would not be excessive. Monty and Rob will be back in next week, and you can give them a call. They are at Lake of the Ozarks now with their Dupo Marine Open. BCB

It was the barb just below flywheel. It appears on assembly of air horn it got wedged under the lip and pulled loose. I think this is on the return end so I would think all is fine. Ill give Rob a call tomorrow just to be sure. Wish I could have made their tournament, family commitments kept me away.
