27P prop on 2012 PII

A 27P sounds a little big!

This is my first boat so my knowledge of pitch selection is not the best. I run 5600 to 5800 rpm trimed out topping out around 73. I was just curious if anyone with a similar setup has tryed a 27p since i plan on buying a spare.

Waaay back in the day I had a PII when it was the top of the line, now run a Puma for a number of years. But back then a 24P to a 25P was a good choice depending on how high the motor is. Im sure some of the other guys will check in and offer their “unfettered” advice!!

I have a 25 pitch great hole shot and topping out at 73.4 so far 1/4 above flush on the Jackplate. I think the fastest speed recorded on here with the p2 was on a 26p fury on a 200 sho @ 77mph. Id prolly stay with that prop.

I have a 27P Trophy Plus I got when I bought the boat (2007 Classic/200 Opti) as a 3rd prop though Ive never run it. I went to the 26P Fury and never looked back. Have a 26P Trophy Plus as a back up that I ran before buying the Fury. Previous owner said the 27P worked fine though he lost a little speed with it. I imagine couldnt get the rpms up with such a tall prop. The 27P is available if you or anyone else is interested. BTW I had put a small ding in my Fury and sent to Croxton for repairs. Came back and ran better then new out of the box. There are several good prop guys discussed on here if want to repair old one.

Thanks for the replies. I plan on taking mine to get worked next week and will talk with the owner of the prop shop about a spare. Toledo left me with some pretty good dings in my current prop.

We suggest a 24 to 25 pitch propeller for most and a few are running a 26.

26 fury in the cooler weather and a 25 fury in the summer months. Those were the best 2 props for my 2011 P2, and I tried several different props.
