4 Batteries In An Old Cougar FTD

I brought this up once before and was thoroughly reamed by the faithful, but Ill try again. How do you fit 4 decent size batteries in the back of a 2 tank Cougar FTD? If the hoses had been fit a tad longer you might be able to dangle one sideways over the bilge, but I dont see how it can be done as built. Never mind the extra headache when you have to change a pump if you did it that way. You could put a little strain on some hoses and get it in, but imagine the headache trying to get it out of the way to plug the leak when you break a fitting because of the extra strain.
