It has the old school construction which has wood encapsulated in fiberglass. Its big and your 200 is going to be doing a lot of work pushing that boat. Very very few have ever posted running a jaguar/200 combo(maybe 1 or 2), so youre probably about right with the 2396 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner

I have a 98 Jag. 225 Merc. Run a 24 fury on it. Possibly be up for sale in the next couple of weeks.

Is it the original motor and how much are you wanting. I dont know when they even started making 225 hp motors. Figured 200 was as big as they made then. Think it only has 300 hours on original motor. Compression is awesome.

Not a big speed freak anyways but my fuel economy may not be the best. Its a good enough price, not sure I can pass it up. I can always try to repower sometime.

Probably repowered with whatever he could afford. Or had a good deal on the boat and already had a motor. There wer several Jaguar models with 200 EFI and OMC engines. They saw no reason for the performance or the extra cash and most were long term owners that resale was not a factor.

I have owned 98 jaguar for 11 years. In my opinion if you maintain it and keep it clean it will last you a life time. You will love the deck lay out plenty of room for two people move around. I have upgraded the engine to a 2003 250 optimax and run a four blade 26 prop with a blow out ring. I am out in AZ there are not too many Basscats out here when I wipe it down after fishing people come up and think it is a new boat. The fastest i have ran it is 74.3 mph on the gps.

This one is rated up to 245. Think it will still run as fast I like. Still havent pulled trigger yet but thinking about it.

I have a 98 Jag. with a 225 optimax. I cant say anything about performance with the 200 but I can tell you youll love the ride and the space. How many boats offer a rod box in the back for your partner??? I changed the seats out a few years ago to bucket sets and it made a big difference. If it gets out of the hole well and if top end speed is not your thing Id go for it.BCC
