999 CI HD SI Combo Fit In Bow Well 2006 Puma

Just asking for some help to see if the Hummingbird 999 CI HD SI Combo will fit/mount down in the well at the bow without a ram mount on a 2006 Puma. I like the low profile but it looks like a tight fit with the Minn Kota foot pedal to get it in there with the standard mounting bracket that comes with the unit. Saw someone in this forum did this on a Cougar but the well looks bigger than the Puma well. Thanks for any advice regarding this.Jack

It will barely fit, placement is critical and we do suggest a RAM or BalZout mount.

You wont be disappointed with a BalZout mount. They dont move at all in rough water or while towing.

Ive had a 998 on a Balzout for over a year now and am completely satisfied. I just changed to an 1158. Havent been on the water with it yet but I expect the same satisfaction. It doesnt move. A friend had his 8″ Humminbird unit on a Ram Mount. The Toledo Bend waves caused it to bang face down on the deck and broke his screen. I know there is a tool to help tighten a big Ram Mount to the point it shouldnt move.
