A10 and NexSyslink touch pad replacement – Easy!

Just wanted to try and return a favor to all those that continuously posted great answers and provide simple solutions and fixes to other owners. I recently had a couple minor issues...one with my ACC button sticking on my A10 which made turning on lighted hand rails a little problematic and also an issue where my display on my NexSysLink gauge would scroll continuously intermittently. I researched and/or posted my issues to this forum and as usual, the great members and BCB quickly provided solutions for simple fixes that saved me the inconvenience of unloading my boat and driving to a dealer. Thought I would show how simple it is to replace both the A10 and NexSysLink touchpad:1. A10 shipped from BCB 2. View of A10 under the dash. Notice bracket with two small phillips screws on the left. Same holds it on the right side as well. Also multipin connector-simply depress tabs on top and bottom and gently remove from back of A10. After removing the brackets and connector, you will need to tap on the posts in each corner to loosen the A10 as it is held in place with silicon adhesive. Few firm taps and it comes right out. NOTE: before I removed the A10, I killed power, unplugged it and plugged in the replacement to ensure that fixed my problem. Sure enough it did, so I proceeded with uninstall below. Hardest part was not bumping my bald head on the hotfoot . Total project below was 30 minutes max and that was with an adult beverage3. View from front after removal. Note, the bezel remains in place and you will need to clean off the excess silicon4. To re-install simply applied a new thin bead of clear silicon caulk and reversed the steps above.5. I also had to replace the NexsysLink touch pad right next to it. This was a simple peel and stick install. Trace the thin ribbon/wiring harness back underneath the dash and disconnect by pressing single tab6. Like above on A10, before I peeled off the old one, I connected the new one and confirmed it fixed my continuous scrolling issue...again, like new! Peel off old touch pad, clean off remaining adhesive with WD40, prep surface with alcohol, insert connector through hole, reconnect ribbon/harness, then gently peel and stick new touch pad. CAUTION, becareful not to pinch ribbon/wire when applying.Again, like new!Hope this helps another member out. BCB and members here have all the answers and many can be fixed by owner. Thanks again for this tremendous resource and the assistance. Hope I can pay it forward!BillLast edited by HSVBCB on March 11th, 2013, 2:21 pm, edited 1 time in total.
