Topic: AC Delco, Sears Die Hard, or Duralast?

After 3.5 years I need to replace my trolling batteries. I currently have M27MF AC Delco batteries and they have done well. One just failed to maintain a charge and I will replace all three, though the other two are holding a charge very well. I have recently heard a great deal of criticism about AC Delco batteries. My battery trays are for 27s but I can replace them. Would you guys suggest 29s over 27s for the trolling motor batteries, and would you recommend Die Hard or Duralast over the AC Delco batteries. I think I will purchase flooded cell for the trolling motor batteries. Thank you in advance for any assistance that you may provide. Corky

All three 29 series die hards, if I had to choose between those.

Given those options I would definately go with the 29 series and either Sears or WalMart batteries. If needed you can replace them at basically any town or city in the nation should one go bad.BrianBrianHAWG Hunter2013 BassCat Eyra2013 Mercury 250 Pro XS Gen2 L/U

Personal experience for me has been very good with the 27 series Duralast deep cycle batteries. On my last boat I used these for the trolling motor exclusive batteries and had a Sears Platinum 31 series for my 3rd troller/cranker. This combo worked well for me the last 3 years of my ownership and they are still going strong today. They have good reserve capacity, are fairly heavy, and have a great warranty which is free replacement for 2 years if I remember correctly and they will cost less than the others you are looking at. I personally am not a big fan of maintenance free wet cell batteries. Wet cells have to have water in them or they die. If you are cycling your batteries enough it is just a matter of time before the batteries die due to lack of electrolytes. I am no battery expert, this is just my opinion.
