I dont know. My 200 Opti idles like an old hot rod with a 3/4 cam. Once you throttle up shes fine but man she runs rough at 1200 or lower. I do like the sound at speed.
The sound of a 2 stroke crackle is music to my ears. Got a friend with an older carbd 200 merc w/ relieved exhaust on a 17 CC Bullet. The sound of holeshot on that thing would make a dead man smile……..
Love the sound of the Merc 150-200 2.5 EFI 2-strokes, XR6s, and the old cross charged tower of power inline 6 Mercs! Optis sound like a coffee grinder at idle, but sound good wide open. NO 4 stroke for me.

My Verado purrs like a kitten. It is so quiet that all I can hear is the water from the tell tale hole. Sometimes it is even hard to tell if its running that is until I pour the power to it. Turn the key and it starts just like the truck. No choking, no rough start or idle and no squeezing of the bulb. Sorry I dont miss any of that. Had a few 2 strokes that were all temperamental, rattled and shook and sounded like the growl from a GTO I had. I do miss that sound and the GTO too.
