Anyone ever mount a T&H hole shot plate to their ATLAS??

So I bought the hole shot plate for my 8" Atlas to possibly aid in a better hole shot and to prevent the water from channelling up the plates opening onto the back deck during shut down. For those wondering my hole shot is not bad at all but Im always tinkering with my setup to try to improve in areas important to me. It might help just a little and little things add up. My question is have any of you ever mounted one to a bass cat jack plate? The hole shot plate is designed to mount to the regular atlas and not the bass cat version so I will need to do some modifications to it. If anyone has any pictures of what they have done it would be greatly appreciated. Hole shot plates may help some, though we have video that proves the effects are minimal.

BCB – whats your take on the front swept cavitation plate foils like the Bryans or Allison? A friend of mine is running an Ally foil on his bullet and the difference in hole shot is amazing. His would aim for the sky without and come out almost instantly with little bow rise at all with. Ive never had a hole shot issue with my Sabre – but, I like the minimal bow rise and lower planning speeds. As well, when Im loaded with fuel and have the wells filled – it slows the hole shot significantly.

Thank you for the response BCB. I figured the gains would be very small if any but I thought it would be a fairly inexpensive experiment. In the future I may look into Lithium batteries for the trollers. Thats a big OUCH!!! on the pocket book though. I wont even consider that until my current Pro Guides give out though and Im hoping for another 3 or 4 years out of them. I have to say the idea of shaving 100 or more pounds from the back of the boat is intriguing but I dont know if the lithium batteries are even close to worth the money for someone like me. I do get out on the water more than most “weekend warriors” but I am certainly not ever going to make any money as a fisherman. For a true Tournament “pro” that may be a good investment but one things for sure, I wont have to worry about being confused with a “pro”! LOL! I currently have my 25″ Fury prop at Mr. Ronnie Gilberts place for some of his magic to be worked. That is most likely where I will see my biggest increase. JSTEW,I had an Allison Foil on my P-Classic and it did help quite a bit. I needed the help with the original 2.5 liter merc but after I switched to the 3.0 liter it didnt need the help and I didnt re-install it. I thought about that for my new one but I just cant get myself to drill holes in the cavitation plate of that $4500 lower unit. Im afraid of any warranty issues with doing that. Chris – thats kind of my issue. With a 2.5L, it launches out of the hole fine until I load it down. Then she gets a little sleepy due to a lack of bottom end torque. My Sabres only 70# lighter than your P-Classic ( before I added a passenger console) and Im pushing it with 50 less ponies. If you have a foil laying around gathering dust – consider selling to somebody thatll happily drill into a cavitation plate? Will that foil even fit a 3.0L lower unit? I have seen several cavitation plates crack due to these. Have even repaired a few. These cause a tremendous amount of stress. Not to speak if u idle alot u take the chance of picking up a stick and it wedging between the prop and foil. When this happens it acts just like a big pry bar. I mounted one a few weeks ago on an eyra/ pro xs. Did mot see a lot of help on holeshot but it did seem to help on backwash when shutting down. Was pretty simple to mark and drill holes, if you have the lss transducer bracket you may need to redrill that. Overall I think it is worth putting on.
