Arizona lakes need your help!!

Your favorite fishing holes have taken a hit from a fish kill 3 years ago (possibly Golden Algae) and Game and Fish department drags their feet for years and still nothing happens. They take creel surveys and the result are astonishing: Apache Lake- 67 creels, 63 LM Canyon Lake- 166 creels, 484 LM and Saguaro Lake- 97 creels- only 3 LM. Local Anglers have decided to stop waiting for Game and Fish and push the issue. United Arizona Anglers Foundation has united to help in the efforts to improve our fisheries. Good luck! Consider relocating to Texas. Texas Parks and Wildlife seem to be doing a fantastic job with our fisheries, both salt and fresh. Our full lakes havent hurt either. I dont think Az fishing has the inpact on state revenue as it does in states like Texas.

Keep after them Ted, and allow yourself to be part of the solution. What i mean is simply to make yourself and members of your group available to help with projects, and include your biologist in your efforts. Ive worked with the AGFC for a number of years now, and made many friends in the agency. Some also cringe when they see me attending a meeting, but at they know where i stand, and ive also had their back a few times too. So my best advice is to become informed and knowledgeable about the issues, and dont stop ! Stay on course and the lakes will ge thte attention they deserve.
