The article stated that they were the first out of state anglers to win. What about the Cali boys a few years ago.

It is an error, as there have been several winners from out of state. They broke the more recent trend of those from Arkansas or Missouri winning the event. While often not locals, they were area winners in the past recent years.

I am amazed on how much information given during many of the interviews have been changed or embellished for whatever reason. What was said was we may have been the first team from Michigan to win.

I apologize for the confusion and also that the accolades and gratitude to Bass Cat, Sherms’ and the Bass Cat family was not represented in the article as given.

We continue to be humbled by the whole thing still, and do not try to claim anything that was not true in any interview.
