We are very glad the the “Werts” took great care of you! Thanks for voicing this, BCB
LOL! We would love to have a quality servicing dealership in Kansas. Over the last few years we have had a difficult time there in popping over the hill with a dealer. Sorry about the bug problem! BCB Admin.
Would like to have one at LOZ also. Saw that Valentine Marine is for sale in the lake paper.
LOZman,Adrian has been a friend of Bass Cat for more years than I have been associated with them. We had a conversation with Rick at one time and we think he spent somewhere around 10+ years with OMC (Johnson & Evinrude) as a trainer, and 15+ with Mercury as a field service tech.. Add that to the fact that he and Nancy have been an owner in Valentine Marine for longer than my time 1980s puts him at 45 to 50 years of marine business alone. We are sure he and Nancy are overdue on a little retirement. It is a nice little facility on the lake at Lake of the Ozarks, and could make someone a tidy living with some room to grow if you want. We too would like a larger full time stocking dealership in that area from Clinton/Tightwad & Warsaw to Osage Beach, MO areas. BCB Admin.
Marty,s Marine, Osage Beach, just make up and get him back on board.

I bought my Classic from Jay Zimmerman at Midwest Marine in Harrisonville, south of Kansas City at Hwy 7 and & Hwy 71. Nice folks and very accomodating…Gary Hollander
No Gary, they dropped Charger a while ago and picked up another line. And BTY, I run my Puma through Jay as well, real good guy, but it sure would be handy to get Marty back.Chuck

They dont need to stock bass boats–Pontoons are their bread and butter. Martys Marine and the folks there are great friends of ours, and we stop in at least weekly and say hello. Marty and Ursula are still dealing with a major health issue, and they are always in our thoughts and prayers…
I wasnt critical of any current dealership. But with Valentine up for sale, we will not have anyone in the area. I also would like to see Marty and Larry as Basscat dealers again. The last large dealer at the lake left a bad taste in my mouth.

The last large dealer at the lake left a bad taste in my mouth.Valentine MarineWe first met Adrian and Nancy Zeimet in 1985 when he installed a CMC jackplate on my 1982 Ragin Cajun. They had been selling Chargers and were in the process of switching over to Bass Cat. One of my tournament partners bought a promo Charger from Gary Myers, who was changing to Bass Cat in 1986 or 1987 model year. We never bought a boat from Adrian, as I was always encouraged to utilize the “stocking” dealers as part of my promotional team membership status. Adrian remains a great friend and deserves his well-earned retirement. He has apparently beaten back some health issues and that is always good news! (cant get rid of the underlines)Ozark Village MarineI bought my first PII, a 1989 DC from Dean Shepard at Ozark Village Marine in November 1988. Dean died in December of that year. I bought a 1991 PII DC from his wife, Karen. The dealership was eventually sold to Steve Parker. I bought a 1994 Classic DC, 1996 PII DC and 1997 Jaguar DC from Steve. Thanks to Steves support, I joined the Bass Cat Promotional Team in 1995 and the 1996 PII was my first of many to come afterwards. They got out of bass boats in the late 1990s and focus still today on pontoons. Steve and his wife Rhema remain our friends still today.Martys MarineI ordered a 2000 Conventional Cougar DC (the first with vacuum processing) in August 1999, and subsequently went on to purchase a 2001 Jaguar DC, and 2003 Cougar FTD DC (the passengers console wasnt even ready yet–still being molded). During this time, we had numerous open-houses, special events and a really great promotional team for Bass Cats and Charger Boats. Late 2003 I believe it was, Martys stopped selling BCBs sometime after their salesman left and went to work for another dealership. The remaining stock they had, I personally helped shuttle from Martys Marine to Dave Mungenast, who was taking them on at the Lake and in St. Louis. The folks here at Martys Marine are all like extended family to us.Dave Mungenast Marina I ordered a 2004 Cougar FTD DC from Mungenast (fall 2003), a 2005 Puma DC (March 2005) and a 2007 Cougar FTD DC from Mungenast in December 2006. This was a complex relationship, and one that eventually soured, at least from my perspective. Dave Jr. is a good guy and I will always have respect for him. They stopped selling BCBs in St. Louis several years ago, and at the lake sometime last year and took on Nitro (need I say more). The whole morale of this story seems to be that each dealership at LOZ that I worked with, buying retail (the first three) and eventually promotional staff boats (1996-2007) have all quit selling Bass Cats. I didnt ever buy one from Adrian, and he is just now shutting down and retiring! My most recent purchase from Midwest Marine was retail as well, so based on my track record, their outlook for 2010 and beyond could be in jeopardy…Gary HollanderLast edited by Gary Hollander on July 7th, 2010, 11:38 pm, edited 4 times in total.
