Dealers and consumers determine motors not BCB. I have lived near ol hick before and thats a stratos brp thing there. That location and a few others are exceptional to US market in 250 market. BCB has no engine deals with any engine company for preferential usage. The factory builds boats and allows the consumers to determine which of the three brands they prefer. BCB

Well I stand corrected. It would seem then that 90-95% of dealers and customers prefer Mercs. B/c thats about all I see on the BCB by serial number page.13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods

A week ago I went fishing with a friend and we were both commenting on how many Mercury motors there were compared to everything else combined. It was easily 5 to 1 Mercs if you combined every other manufacturer against them. I wouldnt hesitate owning a 200 HO Etec in a New York Second on a BassCat. Then again, I could say the same for Yamaha and or Merc. Again, As long as its on a BassCat. I will say Power and Torque with Etecs are outstanding from my past personal experience. To bad they have neglected the Bass Boat industry outside FLW marketing. It is what it is.

In my opinion, and my opinion only, Mercury has poured a ton of money into sponsoring and promoting their motors through and with pro anglers. That approach has worked for them. I live in eastern North Carolina. The most popular motor overall is Yamaha 4 strokes, (not SHOs). Most of these motors are on center console “salt water” fishing boats, and pleasure boats. The most popular motor on bass boats in this area is Mercury. I have a Yamaha F-150 on my 02 Sabre, and it is a great motor in this application. I have only seen one or two Yamaha F-150s on bass boats in this area. Why? Pros dont run F series yamahas on the tour. A lot of weekend anglers want to be like the big boys. So, does that make Mercurys the best on the market? You be the judge. It is your money. By the way, the most popular bass boat in this area is Triton. Does that make Tritons the best bass boat? Again, does popular mean best?
