my lowrance 522 does the exact same thing…. wow.. I was kinda thinking my mechanic didnt hook stuff up right??? I got in a pickle last week and starting battery went dead, so I had to buy one in a small town.. got the biggest he had but it was only 850 cca.. 1000 warm. my lowrance was doing this same thing with my last battery as well , it wasnt big enough either.. sucks to spend 86$ and still not have what I need.. thanks for the info.

I bought a new cranking battery the other day. I got a 24 series AC Delco with 1000 MCA for 80 with tax. I have 3 31 series for the trolling motor that I bought from Oreilys that have been working great and they were 80 a piece too. My dealer recommended that battery for my 250 Pro XS cause of the 1000 MCA.

That is because the engine is still tied to the cranking battery, and the boat harness is tied to the trolling battery. They are not wired in together any longer. We dont know how old or what battery you have, though there are recommendations in the FAQ Section.

I have a Red Hot Mama 1000cca battery and its less than 2 months old. Is your answer to my fuel level problem or my gps. thanks

No, did you remove the wiring on the cranking battery for the engine to that trolling battery also? If not that is the fuel gauge issue.

I moved all the wires from the cranking battery except the main ones for the engine

That is the issue, there is no common ground between the engine harness and boat harness. BCB

We do install Pro Guide, and Lane Shumaker who owns the company is a friend of BCB as well as a part of the “Family”! They private label major OEM batteries as well as sell Trojan, Exide and other brands. We use the Exide style in the AGM with his label, and we use the ProGuide in the 30 series for trollers here. Lane is a really good guy!BCB

That should work fine, though we are not aware of whether or not they fit a tray., We think they do, though think is not know. It is supposed to be a day off the board today so we just jumped on to check it. No one we can ask today.

The aluminum trays in my 2002 hold Group 31 batteries. I have Deka AGMs. Viewing the tray image, it appears to have a removable spacer that would snug up a smaller battery.
