BC et al – In-dash flasher replacement question!

Id like to replace my bum OEM Zercom in-dash flasher with a Lowrance 1440.Does the LCF-1440 have a decent track record, or should I reconsider another possible option?Would also like to move to a HD unit in the future, but hear they tend to lose the bottom reading when on-plane, so thought Id rely on a flaher for depth while running.Thoughts/suggestions?

sony stereo with remote installed in flasher hole!!! 1440 BLOWS!!! my 28HD works good, never had problems with it loosing bottom!!

Vexilar is the best overall option in a flasher unit that is old style and great! The next option is to get a replacement in the Zercom from parts if they have it. If you just want a working unit to fill the hole, see about a replacement in the Zercom. BCB

Ive had two Cougars with the 1440 in dash. Theyve always worked fine. I almost never use them though.

1440 is not good. Go another way, it is terrible and comes on when it wants to!
