Drew:
Is the STS hull different than the Legacy?
Yes, the Soft Touch Series is quite different than the Legacy hull. The Legacy hull refers to the frame itself as much as the running surface. These are 94” x 20’4” hulls with the traditional design. There were several evolving versions built from inception in 1996. Then the “wide body” in a “euro hull” for Verado, then the 2008 hull, to the newer 2012 versions of tweaks, and they pretty much stayed consistent after 2012.
That frame band template, and steps in the hull, has been used from 1996 through to today in 2025.
Thus it’s a Legacy hull.
Further: The “Hybrid 203” hull is developed on that same band template at the top, though it’s running surface is very unique and was developed to work with todays weights, four strokes, and horsepower. It has the Bass Cat dry front bow areas, Vee, sides and transom, while utilizing that 203 base for the ride and handling down in the water.
The Eyra is a very unique hull and altering it, or adding the STS features, possibly would bring that hull down some, and the Caracal STS would be a competitive model in the lineup, in being very similar. We just don’t think there’s market room for that model and the Caracal STS to both offer volumes necessary for a full model build of hull, stringer, flooring, boxes, deck assembly and more; in an Eyra STS.
