I think the game will be closer than most think. But Alabamas got to have the edge with thier offense coming around the last few games. Ill say Alabama -31, Texas- 24. Ive got alot of respect for Mack Brown and his team. They are very proffesional in how they go about thier business. Saban is obviously as good as we thought he was. Should be a great game. I typically would not respond on this subject, but since its got to do with a particular coach ( Saban) who couldnt hang in the big leagues and is considered a true quitter………..Go Texas, I hope its a blow out…45 to 3

Alabama 31 and Texas 23. There are a good many college coaches who left the NFL and have successful collegiate positions. Pete Carroll(USC), Nick Saban(LSU/Alabama), Bobby Petrino(Arkansas), Steve Spurrier(South Carolina), Lou Holtz(Notre Dame/South Carolina), are a few that tried the NFL. Of course not all NFL coaches make a good college head coach either…Charlie Weiss at ND being a prime example. Dallas Cowboys had Jimmy Johnson from Miami Hurricanes…then plugged in Barry Switzer from OU. Might as well throw the score out there since I keep editing myself. Have also been a long time fan of the Cornhuskers. For Texas to be able to eek out a victory against that defense, and lets face it, the Huskers Blackshirt defense is back thanks to Pelini, may speak volumes. How many have quit before the end of their 1st year? Hmmm, not many….. BCB I agree there are quite a few College coaches who have made the transition successfully to the NFL but NOT Saban. At least the majority of the ones who try , dont quit or give up like he did.

Saban tried for a couple of years, as did Spurrier. Petrino actually left before the end of his first year, but lets lay the cards out on the table.
