That’s good to hear. I am thinking about adding one to my P2 and seeing the location of the holes and design of the ladder would cause a misalignment if drilled without a template or fixture.

Today i called Bcb. I talked to 2 of the best there. NO TEMPLATE is available. Though i was told how to line it up. I havent had a chance to compare wat was explained. I may have to make a trip to a dealer and just do a little bit of measuring.

This is the inside rail. A measurement to the center of the pipe is wat im looking for on a late model p2. This is a sabre ftd. It appears to be different.

With the ladder attach points against the hull and cap, does it have to located in a certain area for them to be flush? The way the PII and Sabre are designed, it seems the cap attach points would only allow a very small area for them to fit flush. Also, it would have to center the air scoop on the top cap.

I would find where it best fits. Put masking tape down in that area. Use a pen or pencil to mark the attach point (circle), than mark center. I would do the hull first. Secure both lower hull points with the bolts, than mark the cap points. Remove and drill the cap points. Reattach it filling the bolt holes and contact points with Silicone.  Only way I could see to do it without a template.

I wish it was that simple. You have to remember. Those top mounts have 1.75″ long studs that are welded in. So in other other words if you get the back where you want and mark the top and drill it by the time it drops the distance of the studs it will not be where you thought it would be. You are dealing with geometry and angles. I can rest assured im not gna end up with 2 unwanted holes. This is why i posted here hoping someone would be willing to take this measurement off a late model p2. I was gonna go to Hideaway Harbor though the one they have has the e-ladder.

My mistake. I was thinking the upper mounts had bolts. Studs change all that. Would throw the hole location way out. Are the lower mounts also studs?

No the bottom flanges use screws which is more than adquate for a compression load. The top is probably bolts with the head spot welded before the welding of the flange to the tube.

Redngoo, I have a 2015 P2 that came with the factory installed boarding ladder. I’ll be glad to help all I can. Not sure I‘m savey enough to post pictures on here, but could send them to your e-mail. I have taken a few with measurements.

Redngoo, here is my measurement but you may already have what you need. If I measured it correctly it looks like 4″ straight up. Sorry, this is the outside rail. See my next post for pic of the inside rail!
