Folks, There a plenty of rigs on this board for sale. And there is a variety of conditions of those rigs. No doubt guys like Judd, JC and a few more keep pristine care of those rigs, as do those few more. And as a result those rigs deserve to bring more dollars in their resale. There are also rigs here that are run more, not as clean and actually a couple that are beat a bit. It is just in some folks natures. Then there are high time boat that are well cared for, all the way down to one other conditions. Be thorough and figure out which rigs fits your needs. If you fish only occasionally and are rather anal about your toys, then look at one from someone like yourself. If you fish hard and play hard, let your pocketbook be your judge. Of course there are rigs on here that have a variety of age also. From a 1985 model up has been fairly recent here. And those have wide variety of values. Those from 70s to late 80s are in a defined lesser range. The ones from 89 to 92 are in another category. Whereas those from 93 to 99have a different value range. The most feasible range for many is the 2000 through hte 2004 model years. That seems to be the most popular and shortest time on the For Sale board. Though it is also the lower number of rigs available in that higher demand range. Those in the 2005 through 2008 Model Years are strictly up to the purchaser on their values and demands. That is a Buyers Market, unless value drives a sale. The next consideration is equipment. Be sure to realize the value of a 997 SI HumminBird over a 320 Lowrance. The price tag to your pocket new can be around another $1500 more for that CLR difference. Thus they also have some benefit on the resale shelf. Front LCRs are also in the same, as are hydraulic plates wheels, tires and trolling motors. All of these offer more value at a depreciated value for the second and third owners. Though that also means they spent plenty for what they wanted on the front end. Face it, 20" wheels and those Falken tires cost plenty more. If you want the bling, it will cost more. Then there are engines, which all offer different traits and different fuel mileage curves. Let your judgment be your guide there. Engines need to fit the personal preference. If your not happy with a Mercury and you bought a bargain instead of waiting on Yamaha or Evinrude. Then you probably never will be satisfied with the rig you just bought. We want you happy, so be rather selective and get what you really wanted in the end. The market has been fairly good up until a month ago, and we have seen a resurgence in the past week on used boats. The back to school grind seems to have passed. Those in the market now are die hard enthusiasts like ourselves, and they are ready to go fishing. This post is to help all of those wanting to go to define values and equipment differences. There are many options and one can load a rig however they desire. Quality AGM Batteries alone can add another $400 to a boat rig, Though the AGM Batteries should last a lot linger also. Figure out the differences and make a decision you feel comfortable with or get what you paid for. We want all of you happy too! Thanks BasCat Boats for the information. My 2007 is just an example of what BassCat was talking about. I try to get a boat every year but the 2007 Puma came in June but for low hours for someone I had an elbow issue all year so I didnt get to fish much after I got my boat and then I had surgey in December so that put me back some. Most of the hours on my boat have come in 2008. My boat is garage kept when not in use. The Mercury 250 Pro XS has warranty until June 2012. The boat is very clean show room condition. I am ready to get a 2009. If anyone is intrested in the maintanence or condition of my boat feel free to call Reed or Steve at Riverside Marine in Nashville Tennessee 615-847-4909 or if you are intrested in a new 2008 boat they still have some and they will take care of you. My boat is listed here under Tennessee BassCat Puma. Also there is alot of very well maintained boats for sell on this page these people take good care of these boats because they are selling them every year or every other year and they have a lot of warranty on them. So if you are looking for a good used BassCat you should be able to find what you want here. Thanks And let me know if I can Help dannyh4d@bellsouth.net Thanks Danny HaleyLast edited by Danny Haley on October 7th, 2008, 2:33 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Thanks BCB! The boat market hopefully will pick up. I am trying to upgrade to another basscat myself. Please take a look at my 06 Puma. She is a very clean boat.
Thanks BCB…I know I catch some flack about how I keep my rig but the first serious guy who comes and looks at it will buy. It is just the way it goes when you take the time to keepem looking new. I really like this one anyway and being boatless bank trash is never fun Judd Lasiter
Wards 04 P4 is as good as they get,. judds 08FTD is awesome, and i know Mike Sanders has a great boat he will part with, not to mention another AR. guy, Doug Drummonds with a cherry boat for sale !
Thanks BCB! We do our best to keep our rigs super clean. We want the next owner to be able to enjoy the boat just as we did when we first took delivery of it. The Wrap I had on mine was amazing at how well it protected the gel coat. Someone will receive a great boat when they get one of the ones listed on the For Sale page. Jamey Caldwell
I understand the frustration, this time of year people want to tear our heads off when buying a boat from a individual, but. Spring is not that far off, so keep her clean and keep the faith!! Regards, Chuck
