The regulations refer to the front third of the boat. The side works well and under the bow just in the front stripe area and forwards works well too.

So they are even on both sides, use the front cleat as a guide by putting the most aft item directly under the cleat w/ the rest going forward.

Not sure which picture but I bought the boat used. Came with two butt seats and I added a second power post. Classic has three places for the posts with the middle one meant to used to place seat when running. I use this midle spot when trailering and with the Aurora cover on too.
