The tooling is completed on the redesign, and needs the molds built. The design on the Bobcat moved it to an in line tandem seating concept. While the tooling on the boat is done, the boat is on hold for other projects at this time. We are pressing on other items. BCB

It has been on hold for a variety of reasons. The tooling is complete, though the molds have not been built yet. This is a complicated EPA issue actually on the mold product. Though we hope to bridge it soon. The molds are only able to be built sparingly and we were unable to build new non priority boats as we withheld our allowable VOC levels for models we needed molds for to keep the ship afloat. Welcome to our world! We have a model built, done and ready, we can not build molds for. Thank You Uncle Sam, or rather bureaucracy of whatever reason! We can burn 2500 hundreds of pounds more of the same VOC each day legally in production, and we cant use 25 pounds of that product for a specific mold to build more product. Not to hijack the thread, but BCB you are exactly correct. EPA fines are prohibitive, and almost impossible to defend yourself against. Next time you get caught in a road closure do to an accident, rest assured that the road will be closed long after the cars are moved. A gallon of spilled gas or antifreeze, has to be collected, tagged, and removed, or significant fines to the answering municipality will result. Apparently, 600 idling vehicles have no impact on the environment.

I thought Rick was not happy with the hull and how it handled with the higher HP rating. Was he not testing a 50 or 60 HP on it? Thought he scrapped the original design with the Phelix hull and was starting over with a new hull?

I think that is why they need a new mold, because they changed the design. Im just guessing here though

The boat hull was fine, though the side by side seating only had two (2) boats built from those molds. The molds were done and could have been produced, though Rick was not satisfied and the boat top deck was redesigned for in line two person seating, with a center console. The boat as we understand it is done, and only mold preparation is needed on the plug. Though the EPA guidelines on the materials that BCB uses are stringent, and thus they are not going to use their allowed chemicals on a lower cost product. This was the main reason the project was postponed. Then the newer Jaguar and Eyra took front stage. They hope to revisit it in the future.
