bobs jack plate

I recently have gotten my 2019 eyra and it has a bobs hydraulic jack plate on it. Never ran a boat with a hydraulic jack plate,  wondering if there is any tips or knowledge that can be shared. Mainly like is it better to lower the jack plate all the way down to come out of the hole? What is the best way to figure out where to run the plate ? Do I go by the water pressure or by the jack plate gauge? So the boat boat setup is xi5 trolling motor on front mainly 2 guys in the boat all times, full gear. It does have the 250 pro xs 4 stroke. Does not have power poles, just trying to figure out the best way to find the sweet spot with the plate. From factory it has 25p prop.
