Bow Light Socket – rivets

I had this happen to mine also. Before you order a new one, that one can be repaired by simply removing it and tightening up the screw that supplies the tension to the spring. I am not entirely sure but those rivets might be 5/32 x 1/2″.If no one else verifies that, I could get more accurate information on that tomorrow. Everyone should believe in something. I believe Ill just go fishing!

Those are a compression rivet and they are 3/16″.

You ar looking for a vapor proof rivet that was once named an Avdel brand. Steel core and strong, very strong.

Thanks BCB. I was just checking myself and saw that the size was 3/16. Guys, I used 3/16 x 1/4″ and they worked fine. When you get the light mount out you can see that you can simply tighten the screw that compresses the spring and it will be just like new again. Simple fix. I think I put a little loc-tite on the screw when I did it. That was a year ago and they are still working like new.Everyone should believe in something. I believe Ill just go fishing!

Thankyou…. JEH in La amd BCB….Its a pain that the light socket has to come out to tighten the spring tension but a bit of Loctite will keep things tight..Cheers Guys…
