Bow protection around the eye?BCB?

Does BC make a stainless steel piece to go on the bow to protect the boat from scrathces/scrapes? I missed the the roller this afternoon and scraped the crap out of the bow. I have an 05 Sabre … love the boat! Just dont want to miss that roller again!!

I wonder if the black one scratches less or more than my yellow one. Heck I can get the color off but the scratches are a bummer. Hanging upside down while cranking on the nose of my p4 with Meguiars #2 is tough when it 95 degrees out.C.O.D. Jr. III

Ive had both the yellow and black rollers. The black does leave streaks but the yellow cuts the gelcoat off. Id rather buff the black marks out.

Ive also scratched my p 4 with the yellow one.The bow will get in between the rollers easier than the black; if your off a little.Im going back to the black and keep wiping.cg

I had both on my PII, and it had a white hull. It originally had a black roller, and I had a lot of black marks.
I finally went to a yellow roller and problem solved. NEVER had scrapes or gelcoat damage.
But the yellow roller I used was the Stoltz Super Bow Roller.
It is a little bigger than other yellow rollers and is more of a clear yellow.

I have been using the brighter yellow roller. It is softer and will needs to be replaced about once a year due to getting worn down but it leaves no marks and does not scratch the gelcoat.

I know BCB has went back to the black ones due to scratching on the bow front from the yellow ones. But if you keep the yellow ones clean, I have had no problems.

After getting the trailer a little to deep on my 99 Classic and getting the boat between the inner and outer roller and chipping out the gel coat I had to come up with a solution for my stupidity

I took the outside black rollers off and cut them and recessed them enough the trailer frame fits in them, obviously they won’t turn now but I don’t have to worry about getting inbetween the rollers.

I also found the yellow roller residue was harder to get off the boat and went back with the black one.

I have an 04 Cougar that came with the Stolz roller.

I’m convinced that the residue from the roller is because it doesn’t turn as tbe bow rides up. If the roller was a couple of hairs thinner it would turn as the bow rode up reducing if not eliminating residue.

But I have never gotten any scratchs, just residue.

I found the easiest way to rub the residue off is with Acetone dapped on a clean rag.

hookset has come to the same conclusion as I. Ive thrown away the original yellow roller on my Puma and have resolved the issue.
