Brake Lines Sheared

Took my boat out yesterday and while towing and coming to a stop it seemed like the surge breaks were acting funny. I could feel the actuator both when stopping and starting. When I got home I crawled under the trailer and found both brake lines hanging. The 6 inch piece of tubing that goes from the caliper to the brake hose was sheared off in exactly the same place on both wheels. Right at the end of the piece that screws into the caliper is where they were broken. I had lost all the brake fluid. I took the piece off and went to the auto store. I found the same size tube which was 3/16 and 8 inches long and purchased 2. Bent them to the shape of the old ones but couldnt get them screwed in. The threads on the ones from the auto store showed metric threads and standard flare. I tried several times but could not get them even started. I took the broken ones and tried to thread them in and they went in really easy. I tried a search for the UFP trailer parts and could not find any information on the tubing. I have no idea on how or why they sheared like they did. I rebuilt the whole brake system with new calipers and actuator about a year and a half ago and have had no problems up until now. Can I get these metal brake lines from parts? Is there a diagram or picture of how the lines should be routed between the frame and springs?Any help would be appreciatedThanksJohnLast edited by Love To Fish on May 19th, 2013, 10:45 pm, edited 1 time in total.
