Buyer wants MK ULterra in place of MG Tour Edition

Having issue with size of wide footprint of MK bracket. Has anyone put an Ulterra on a Cougar or Puma. Think I might have to put a plate under the bracket to raise it up above the higher edges on nose. I think rather than drill new holes in BCB fibreglass holes can be drilled in MinnKota base to match existing ones. Anybody see a problem with this? Cannot bring myself to walk up to my boat (his new boat) with a drill. HELP please.

We would use the removable MinnKota bracket and this should elevate it.

Got to get this done in next very few days. Where will I get removable bracket? BCB, I saw hard rubber? risers at Martys Marine that BCB factory put under regular MK bracket that might work for me. But self stowing and deploying MK Ulterra has much wider base. Would removable bracket work for this application?

The removable bracket should have enough footprint for the Ulterra. They usually stock it at BCB though we are not sure where you might get one in your area.

Dupo Marine installed a Ulterra on a Jaguar last week. Give them a call monday. They can probably help you. 618-286-5252

Thanks Charlie.Did you see the results? How far over the nose did the propeller stick out? (Worried about docking) Did they have to buy a new cover or are they waiting to build cover until this is measured? Are you going to do the cover for them? Is Dupo open on Mondays?

Yes it extends almost 12″ over the bow and had to be rotated when retracted to put prop out or it would hit the grab post when pulling up on trailer.

I have the Terrova on my P4. Looks like a very similar base. Mounted on MK sliding bracket and it makes a big difference. I have never had it hit the grab pole or roller yet, but have only had it a few months. Here are pics of it extended and stowed.

Thanks BigK, Left you message to phone or e-mail me. The pics were appreciated. It looks like the bracket slides forward. Does it do it automatically when you stow or deploy? Is the slide part of the bracket or an add on? Does this feel secure when trailering or in big water? I wish I knew the correct questions to ask before I plug in the drill.

Nice talking with you Phil. Here are the additional pics. First one shows the locking knob/bolt next to the padlock I use when leaving it unattended. Dont mind Shrek, he just sniffs out fish for me. Hope it works out. I will check my email archives when I get in the office and forward that mounting document Minn Kota sent me if I can find it. They were very helpful. Bracket is MKA-47. Doesnt come with the grip tape, but I highly recommend adding it.
