Cabelas AGM batteries are metric threaded 6 X 1 female with a 10 mm hex head bolt. I used the original setup for 2 years with no problems, positive,negative and charger wires attached to them no problem. Just used a small lock washer and snug them down tight. I made my own covers. Cut out pieces from an old piece of heavy rubber tubing and glued them to the inside of the aluminum top tray leaving a strip of rubber long enough to cover the connections. When you tighten down the top of the tray it holds the rubber piece in place over the connector. I found some adapters that thread into the battery and have the standard male post setup now. Use SS nylon lock nuts on them instead of the wing nuts. I bought the adapters from Dual Pro Battery site, but they no longer sell batteries or the adapters.
