Caracal 2020 – access to trolling motor base ???

Noticed yesterday I only have two bolts holding my Ultrex to my boat.  One just spins and the back one doesn’t snug up like you would expect.  I see that Minn Kota suggest minimum of 4 to mount properly.  Question is how do you access the bow area to get to the nut and bolt to secure these?  Do you go through the port rod locker or is there an access where the foot control sits?  Thanks ahead of time.

On all of the Cats that I have owned, access to those nuts has always been by removing the bow panel. One tip is to tie a string to your wrench when tightening them up, in case you drop it inside the hull. I have never had one with only two bolts holding it.  Sometimes you have to remove one of the side panels of the troller to find the other two.

Thanks for the info and tip on the wrench.   I see 7 holes in the base, but only two bolts.  I’ll take a look at the side plates though two.  It appears that there is a rubber strip under the front and back of the base sitting on the boat so the base is up about a 1/4”.  My 2 bolts are one in the front and one in the back – where those pads are.  Wondering if the bolts may have worked loose.   Where exactly is the bow panel?

You were right.   There were two other bolts under the right cover plate.  I also figured out where the access panel was – in the well where the foot pedal sits.   Was able to tighten up all the bolts and we are tight and ready to roll.   THANKS AGAIN!
