Caracal aftermarket must haves!

Firstly the two cup holders on the driving deck floor have always been annoying at best. They turned into a bait trash can and it just didn't work. They also caused a twisted ankle or two over the years and I needed to do something with them. This "baby step" by Central Coast Bass Fishing caught my eye and I had to get it. I absolutely love how it now acts as a small flat area, or step, instead of an ankle braker and garbage can. Once I got on the site I saw something even better. The cup holder in front of my console was basically useless while I fished. I also needed some extra space for my flipping and frog rods that didn't beat up the rod tips. The insert shown in the pics takes that cupholder and makes it useful and sharp looking from the base up. I hope you guys get as much use out of these as I am going to. I bought the step early in the year and like it too. That little step helps the steep step up to deck.

Cool idea for sure. Just be cuatious of stepping around the raised rods. Not just because elevating them will make them more susceptible to breaking when stepped on, but would also make them easier to kick overboard (although the holder may keep it in place long enough for you to grab it before it fully goes over). Thanks for sharing the pics. Both mods look good.

My baby step came today. Great looking piece, simple and functional. I will be installing it soon. That was my only dislike about my Caracal was stepping off the deck I have almost rolled an angle a few times.

I installed one last summer and like it. Much less likely for a misstep and the little extra height to first step up to the deck is nice for us old guys.
