We are going to point at two things. One is propeller selection and going down one or two pitches. The other is engine height and lowering engines, especially after removing the battery weight.
You are hearing a lot about lithiums slowing boats down, or changing the way they run. When you remove that much rear weight you must adjust other things, such as propeller and engine height.
Yamaha SHO engines have good midrange bite and, on a Caracal, they can run higher on top end than a Mercury Pro XS and TorqueMaster gearcase in either variation. Plus they had more mid range than the older OptiMax series. People often would raise these engines for more top end, which reduces the mid range lift considerably.
