Caracal net/tool storage

Just curious how Caracal owners like or dislike the net storage on the edge of the deck over time? Does it ever seem in the way or do rod eyes ever get tangled in the exposed netting? How about the plier slots? Do they stay put even in rougher stuff? The video walkthrough looks as if the measure board slots in pretty loosely. Wouldnt figure it could pop out, but does it rattle or jingle around in there?Genuinely curious and looking for honest feedback. Used to the PIV net storage and love it, but thinking forward to maybe Caracal or Lynx someday down the road.

The net just requires one that fits the slot and the revised net plate allows several nets to be used. The pliers ride well in those slots and dont bounce around at all. The material below might wear in time and require a new boot be installed. The measuring board locks in against the scabbard on an angle and does not rattle, though it would if it were straight down. The tool holder works well and never had a single issue with tools or the ruler popping out. As far as the net you do need to be conscious of it around rod tips. Ive never had a issue but come close. As long as you always tuck the netting in youll be fine.

I agree with BCB and Gary. As long as you have the net tucked in, therell be no issue with rods getting hung up on the net. I would advise you get the net that BCB sells which is specifically for the Caracal. The tool holders work great, never had an issue with anything popping out either in rough water or trailering down the highway.Last edited by billius on January 21st, 2017, 2:59 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I use the cheap net from WalMart and it fits fine… I dont need a net much 😉
