Caracal Trailer Slamming

When I brake or accelerate, I get an awful slamming of the trailer. Had the brake lines replaced and supposedly bleed, could it be the actuator? Suggestions? Stebor

Check the reciever in the hit of your truck/tow vehicle. Mine has slop in it and that slop will cause noise when you take off or stop.

It could be bleeding on the brakes and that is the most common. Does the truck stop or is the boat pushing it?

I’ll do some checking when I back it into the garage – it’s uphill and I’ll just unplug the lights and see if I get any resistance.

99% of the time it is two things on a newer trailer. The brakes need bled or slop in the receiver. The brakes have been bled so it is time to try a CURT anti rattle hitch pin.

I am never without an anti rattle hitch clamp. Gets rid of the “clunk” most of the time. Other reason could be a failed shock in the actuator. The shock can be replaced by itself without having to put on an entire actuator. I had that failure on one of my trailers before.
