In general, contact cement brushed on both surfaces and let to dry until it is no longer shiny, is a great glue. It dries quickly but, once pieces touch each other you will not move them again. Best to use out of doors as it has volatile chemicals; flame and brain implications. You can use paper between the pieces to assist in the placement of the carpet. Strangely, paper between the glued surfaces IF let to dry first, will not stick.In regard to the link above, many adhesives will work on a corner that has come unglued.
