Cranking battery

Hey guys, I am having a problem with my cranking battery going dead after about a week, everything is off in the boat. The battery is only a year old, I am going to have it checked anyway. Any advice on things to check would be appreciated, thanks.

fyi, something i learned one day in Alabama when i had starting battery issues. It is simpler to carry an extension cord, and plug the on board charger in an outlet on a dock and charge for awhile(with owners permission!), and get going than to try to jump the starter battery !Just a lil sumthin i learned the hard way……..

You can order the Sears PM 31 on-line and use “auto25” as the code and save, this is good until 3/2.

Just ordered a 31 series online, cost 216.- instead of 279.- and picked it up at my local sears automotive shop that same day. For the discounts you have to order it online though. I called first and the auto center wouldnt honor the online price. Good deal right now. Problem is that big 31 wont fit in the small plastic battery tray in my Sabre so time for an aluminum upgrade.

I was just out on the Sears Website and the series 31 was $265.99 and the series 34 was $208.99 how did you get the series 31 battery for $216? I want one if I can get it at that price. Local Sears has it for $279.99.

I tried to and couldnt get it at that price. Put in auto25 and got it down to 245.00 thats as low as I could get it.

Just this week Sears had their batteries on sale then the auto 25 promo and when I checked out it was 216.- plus tax. Total was 232.- or so. Hope their Internet special hasnt ended. Just checked my receipt. 232.61 with tax. Cant get away from the tax man.

This topic has been beat till the fluids are gone from all the old batteries and the plates are dried up withered led crumbles. Our suggestion is widespread. If your after an easy 3 year service with solid warranty and price is not a major, then go with a Sear Platinum 31 AGM DieHard. You can go with most any other 31 series and especially if its an AGM batt. BCB has suggested everything from tractor batteries to bg 31 series, anything thats 1000 CCA or close. The depth of a battery or cranking is what has been overlooked and most just put a 1000 CCA 24 series in that wont last, they just dont have the guts.

If the battery checks out fine, then consider adding a main bus breaker (http://www.basscatstore.com/8amppushbut … ker-1.aspx). Even when off, some electronic devices still have a draw. I removed my radio for that very reason, plus I never used it. The breaker works well for me.
