Crappie fishing from a Cat

I am just checking to see if anyone else crappie fishes from a cat and what set up they use. I like to crappie fish October thru Febuary. I prefer spider rigging. Is there anyone else who does this. I cringe at the thought of mounting a 4 rod spider rig setup in my boat. I hate drilling holes in a perfectly good boat. I have a SABRE, and I have already figured out I will require a offset pedastal seat pin, as the pedastal base is really forward mounted close to the resess for the trolling motor pedal. Does anyone have any suggestion on a no drill setup for a spider rig rod holder, or any suggestion as to where to mount one. Maybe post up a picture of how you set your boat up for spider rigging if you do spider rigging. The sabre layout does not have alot of extra room at the nose of the boat for extra accessories such as spider rig rod holders.

Use to spider rig a lot but got away from it as I mostly bass fish anymore. Over the years, have made and seen a lot of different setups. This is a setup that I ran into that is the slickest Ive ever seen. If I ever set a boat up again this will go on it. You have to drill though. Cant speak much on the spider rigs.for the most part Im a caster or down line. My farther in law uses spider rigs. Just a little slow for my liking. Im more of a graph guy and hidden brush piles. I to fish late fall to end of may and want hardly fish for actual spawners.I actually like deep water.I am one that believes if they make it to the bank they deserve the chance. I never have been a NUMBERS fisher. Ill take 10 or 15 pound plus over 30 average. I kno spiders CAN AND WILLproduce numbers and size though Im a run an gun type even if I catch a couple slabs . I still move bur often only to return. My farther in laws rigs are nothing fancy and are all homemade though nothing is fastened to the tin rig.mainly to aluminum plates and seat pedstals. If I needed to buy a new pole holder I would get one of these. You just mount a plate to the deck then the holder fastens to the plate, it looks like a good set up. http://www.ezpoleholder.com/spyderlok.html. I already have a different kind so I cant justify buying another one. Hope this helps!

You can take a flat piece of aluminum about 3 inches wide and about two feet long, almost like a golden ruler. Cut a hole on one end that the small end of your seat pedistal can go through. On the other end mount the high tech rod holder Easy on and off with no holes drilled
